Launched in 2022, Goldpoint Jewelry was born in the midst of the pandemic, in a context where demand for affordable and ethical jewelry exploded. Founded by Olivia Michaels and Sunim Choi, the American brand quickly won over its customers, thanks to its luxurious and committed creations.
The dream of Goldpoint Jewelry germinated more than ten years ago in the minds of Olivia and Sunim, when these two jewelry enthusiasts met in a jewelry store in Brooklyn, while they were teaching this art in all its facets. Their shared vision and passion for craftsmanship led to a deep friendship, which even blossomed into a fruitful collaboration. Together, they honed their design skills while mastering the basics of jewelry repair and construction, before founding Goldpoint Jewelry, their high-end jewelry brand . “Our wish is to create modern and fine jewelry, accessible and affordable, while offering ethical, unique and sustainable pieces,” explains Sunim. Their store in New York and the website, which allows the French to have access to this young brand, reflects this expertise: each piece is designed to last, with solid settings and quality materials.
Indeed, at Goldpoint Jewelry, ethics and sustainability are at the heart of the manufacturing process. Olivia and Sunim strongly believe in the importance of creating jewelry that is not only beautiful, but also respectful of the environment and society. Their creations are therefore mainly made from recycled gold and carbon-neutral laboratory diamonds, as well as second-hand natural diamonds and sapphires from ethical family mines. All of the brand's creations are also designed in small series, in order not to overproduce and to guarantee a certain exclusivity to each of the women who proudly wear a piece of Goldpoint Jewelry. This approach also allows the brand to offer strong and durable jewelry. “We are not sellers, but jewelers. We have real expertise in this world, so our goal is to create beautiful pieces that will stand the test of time and be passed down from generation to generation,” adds Olivia.
If the young brand has grown rapidly, reaching international customers and going from a modest company of two designers to an all-female team of nine members, it is thanks to the shared approach of its two founders. “Our design process usually involves drawing sketches on post-its while sharing a bottle of wine,” Sunim says with a smile. This lightness of inspirations is paradoxical with the beauty and refinement of jewelry, whether engagement rings and wedding rings, earrings and pendants, as well as more spectacular pieces. It is also possible to create entirely tailor-made jewelry thanks to the expert advice of the teams, the craftsmen will then work their magic. Always with original inspirations and always with ethics and responsibility, Goldpoint Jewelry continues to develop in the United States and France, sharing a refreshing, luxurious and committed vision of jewelry.
