Jade and Roger met on the failing social media site, Google Plus, just two months before it was laid to rest. They were about to start new jobs at the same company, and decided to organize a happy hour with all of the other new hires the night before they started work. A couple hours before the event, everyone dropped out for one reason or another. Jade and Roger decided to move forward with meeting each other at a much more intimate happy hour. Sparks flew and they instantly became best friends.⁠ ⁠ Five and a half years later, while picking their own bouquet at Hudson Wildflower Co., Roger got down on one knee. He worked with Goldpoint Jewelry to search all over to find an oval, old-mine cut diamond to create a one-of-a-kind ring that is as unique, beautiful, and strong as Jade. After Jade said yes, everyone at the farm cheered, "Love Story" by Taylor Swift played on the speakers, and the sky began to drizzle with tears of joy.
